Real Madrid have approved a loan move for highly rated Argentine youngster Franco Mastantuono, with the deal structured without a buy option to ensure the Spanish giants retain full control over his future.
Softfootball understands that the arrangement follows the same model previously used with Endrick, allowing the 18-year-old to gain valuable first-team experience before returning to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Mastantuono joined Real Madrid from River Plate in 2025 in a deal worth an initial €45 million, with the overall package rising to approximately €63 million through bonuses and additional payments.
The decision represents a shift from the club’s stance late last year, when it was reported that speculation linking Mastantuono with a January loan move had been dismissed. At the time, the Argentine midfielder was considered fully integrated into Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans following his high-profile arrival from River Plate.

By refusing to include either a purchase option or obligation to buy, Real Madrid are making it clear that Mastantuono remains a central part of their long-term project. The club expects the Argentine to return with greater experience and maturity, ready to compete for a regular place in the first team after his loan spell.
