Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the signing of Alejandro Garnacho on an initial loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy.
Earlier today, Softfootball reported that Aston Villa had submitted an official proposal after opening talks with Chelsea earlier this week. Those negotiations have now resulted in an agreement between the two clubs.
The move has been driven by Unai Emery, who identified the Argentine forward as a priority attacking target ahead of the new season.
Garnacho has already pre-agreed a four-year contract with Aston Villa, while the conditional obligation to buy is understood to be appearance-based and considered straightforward to trigger.
The overall package, including the loan fee and conditional obligation, matches Chelsea’s valuation of approximately €50 million, paving the way for the transfer to be completed once the remaining formalities are finalised.
The move represents another significant piece of business for Aston Villa as Emery continues to strengthen his squad, while Chelsea move closer to reshaping their attacking options under Xabi Alonso.
