FIFA will earn over $13BN from the 2026 World Cup cycle. The projected revenue was $11BN, a figure that has already been surpassed, making the 2026 tournament the most lucrative in football history.

Softfootball understands revenue from the 2022 World Cup was reported at $7.5BN, but the numbers have massively increased this year due to the higher number of teams and high ticket prices.

FIFA are now studying the possibility of increasing the number of teams in the 2030 World Cup, expanding from 48 to 64, in an effort to push revenue even higher.
