Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has publicly rejected claims from manager Enzo Maresca that he could miss the remainder of the season through injury, Softfootball reports.
The French centre-back has struggled with recurring injury problems since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2022, including a serious ACL injury that kept him sidelined for a lengthy period.

Maresca recently suggested Fofana’s latest setback could rule him out for the rest of the campaign, raising concerns among Chelsea supporters.
However, the 24-year-old responded on social media to dismiss those comments and insist he expects to return much sooner than predicted.
Replying to a fan account on Instagram, Fofana contradicted his manager’s assessment as he said:
It’s not true! I’m not out for the rest of the season. I don’t know why he said that. I will be back in 4-6 weeks.
Chelsea are currently dealing with several defensive injuries, making Fofana’s expected return a significant boost if his recovery progresses as planned over the coming weeks.
