Amad Diallo has equalled a rare Premier League milestone previously achieved by Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, following his late equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The Ivorian struck with ten minutes remaining, slotting home Alejandro Garnacho’s low cross to salvage a 2-2 draw for struggling Manchester United.

Softfootball notes that Diallo has now scored crucial late goals against both Manchester City and Liverpool since the start of December, including a 90th-minute winner at the Etihad.

According to reports, Diallo becomes only the third United player to score away against both City and Liverpool in the same Premier League season, joining Rooney in 2004/05 and Van Persie in 2012/13.

The 22-year-old has now recorded three goals and six assists in 18 league appearances this season.

United had taken a surprise lead through Lisandro Martinez, before Cody Gakpo and a Mohamed Salah penalty put Liverpool ahead, only for Diallo to rescue a point. The result ended United’s run of four consecutive defeats, lifting them to 13th in the table.
