Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori admitted his disappointment after the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton in the Premier League, Softfootball reports.

The visitors made a bright start and took the lead through teenager Ethan Nwaneri, but Brighton fought back after João Pedro converted a penalty following a controversial challenge involving William Saliba.

Reflecting on the result, Calafiori said Arsenal deserved more from the encounter, especially after their dominant opening spell. The Italian defender believed the Gunners failed to maintain their intensity and control as the match progressed.

Despite the setback, Calafiori insisted the squad must quickly put the result behind them and focus on their next fixture, with another important game just days away.

He stressed that Arsenal showed their true quality during the opening 25 minutes but acknowledged there is room for improvement if they are to remain in the Premier League title race.

Calafiori remains confident the team can respond positively, emphasizing that the season is still long and there will be plenty of opportunities to bounce back from the frustrating draw.
