Manchester United have officially received €12.4 million through the sell-on clause included in Mason Greenwood’s transfer, following the forward’s move from Marseille to Fenerbahçe.
The payment is triggered as part of the agreement negotiated when Greenwood left Old Trafford, providing the Red Devils with a financial boost despite the club choosing not to re-sign the forward.
Softfootball previously reported that Manchester United had decided against activating their buy-back clause, clearing the way for Greenwood to complete his transfer to the Turkish giants.
The decision means United will not re-sign the 24-year-old despite retaining the option following his permanent departure in 2024.

All major aspects of the transfer have now been agreed, with formal documentation being finalised before Greenwood travels to Istanbul to complete the move.
Greenwood has now begun a new chapter with Fenerbahçe, while United benefit financially from the move through the sell-on agreement negotiated in his original departure.
