Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign highly-rated defender Luka Vušković in a deal worth a fixed £46 million, with a sell-on clause capable of taking the overall package beyond £50 million.
Personal terms have already been agreed with the Croatian centre-back, while a medical has been scheduled ahead of the official completion of the transfer.
The deal, which is expected to be finalised this week, represents one of the biggest signings in Brighton’s history as the Seagulls continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Softfootball also understands that João Palhinha is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer despite the Portuguese midfielder’s desire to remain at the club, with his future set to be resolved during the transfer window.

Vušković is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young defensive talents, and Brighton have moved decisively to secure his signature before rival clubs could enter the race.
