South African side Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the signing of Nigerian defender Enyinnaya Kazie on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract with NPFL club Rivers United.
Softfootball understands that the 25-year-old made over 160 appearances for Rivers United, playing a pivotal role in the club’s 2021/22 NPFL title-winning campaign before leaving as a free agent.

Speaking to Stellenbosch’s official website after completing the move, Kazie expressed his excitement:
First of all, I want to thank God for bringing me here after a long wait.
I’m very happy to be here and to be part of the Stellenbosch family.
It is a great club that has already achieved some great things, like reaching the MTN8 final this season and competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.”
He also outlined his ambitions at the club going forward:
I want to contribute positively on the pitch, and I can promise that I will do everything within my reach to ensure that the fans and the coaches are happy,”
Kazie added. He’ll wear the number 16 jersey and is expected to make his debut early next month.
