Former Italy international Antonio Cassano has heavily criticized the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as the new head coach of Roma.
Speaking on a popular football show, Cassano argued that the veteran manager has absolutely nothing left to offer the club in the Serie A.
Softfootball learned that he described Ranieri as having an old school profile that simply does not bring any new ideas to the team.

Cassano was also confused by the tactical setup, questioning the meaning behind a strange formation and wondering what message the coaching staff wants to send to the players.
He expressed disbelief at post match comments where managers claim to see positive things despite poor results, pointing out that key players like Mats Hummels are barely featuring.
Cassano admitted he does not know the exact right medicine to cure Roma’s current problems, but he knows the environment very well from his playing days.
He recalled how the pressure increases massively when a team sits in the lower reaches of the table, turning home games into an absolute nightmare for everyone involved in the club during difficult times.
