England and Norway lock horns in a blockbuster World Cup 2026 quarter-final at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, with the winner moving one step closer to ending Argentina’s title defence.

The Three Lions edged hosts Mexico 3-2 in a thrilling last-16 encounter despite finishing with 10 men, while Norway produced one of the tournament’s biggest upsets by defeating five-time champions Brazil 2-1.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have won three straight matches, scoring at least twice in each, but face a stern test against a Norway team playing with confidence after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time. Erling Haaland has been the standout performer for the Scandinavians, scoring seven goals to keep pace in the Golden Boot race.

History favours England, who have won seven of the previous meetings between the nations and have not conceded to Norway in their last four encounters. However, Stale Solbakken’s side have already shown they can trouble the world’s elite with fearless attacking football.

England are without suspended Jarell Quansah following his red card against Mexico, while Jordan Henderson has been ruled out after wrist surgery. Reece James remains doubtful, but Marc Guehi and Declan Rice are expected to be available.
