According to a post made on FIFA’s official X handle on June 7, FIFA has confirmed that global superstars Shakira and Burna Boy will perform Dai Dai, the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Song, during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City on June 11, Softfootball reports.

Global superstars Shakira and Burna Boy will perform live at the FIFA World Cup 2026™ opening ceremony in Mexico City!

The performance will take place at Estadio Azteca, 90 minutes before the opening match, as fans from around the world gather to celebrate the start of the historic 48-team FIFA World Cup.
FIFA also confirmed that the ceremony will feature several major international artists, including Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, J Balvin, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Maná, Los Ángeles Azules and Tyla.

Nigerian star Rema is expected to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles, with reports indicating that this was confirmed by FIFA on their official website.
The song Dai Dai supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million by the end of the tournament to provide children worldwide with access to education and football opportunities.

FIFA further revealed that Shakira is also set to co-headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show on July 19, adding another major attraction to what promises to be a landmark tournament across Mexico, United States and Canada.
