Colombia and Jordan will conclude their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an international friendly on Sunday, in what will be only the second meeting between the two nations. According to Ataque Futbolero on their official X handle, the third official squad of the Colombia national football team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been unveiled as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament.
Colombia head into the match with growing confidence after an impressive World Cup qualifying campaign that saw them finish ahead of Brazil. Although Néstor Lorenzo’s side suffered defeats to Croatia and France during the March international break, they bounced back strongly with a convincing 3-1 victory over Costa Rica.
La Tricolor have been one of the more consistent attacking teams in international football, failing to score in just one of their last 10 matches. Over the past year, they have also recorded notable results, including a draw against Argentina and a commanding 4-0 victory over Mexico, strengthening belief that they could make a deep run at the upcoming World Cup.

For Jordan, the fixture represents the final step before a historic first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance. Jamal Sellami’s side have shown resilience in recent months and had gone nine consecutive matches without defeat in normal time before last week’s 4-1 loss to Switzerland.
During that impressive run, Jordan faced strong opposition including Mali, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica and Nigeria. However, defensive concerns remain, with Jordan conceding 11 goals across their last four matches.
While Colombia will be viewed as favourites due to their experience and recent form, Jordan will see the encounter as an opportunity to test themselves against elite opposition before making history on football’s biggest stage.
Team news
Lorenzo is expected to make widespread changes to his Colombia XI after naming a weakened side against Costa Rica.
David Ospina, Daniel Munoz, Yerry Mina, Jefferson Lerma, Jhon Arias, James Rodriguez and Luis Suarez could all be handed starting opportunities.
Having played 74 minutes last time out, star man Luis Diaz should drop down to the substitutes’ bench.
Meanwhile, Rajaei Ayed, Ehsan Haddad, Noor Al-Rawadbeh, Mohannad Abu Taha and Yazan Al-Arab could all miss out for Jordan having played more than 70 minutes against Switzerland.
Defender Husam Abu Dahab and winger Ali Azaizeh are among those who will be hoping to stake a claim for a starting role for the World Cup opener versus Austria.

Possible Lineups

With Jordan suffering a comprehensive defeat to Switzerland, they need a positive response if they are to be taken seriously at the World Cup. However, we can only see a convincing win for Colombia, even if they may fail to keep a clean sheet.
