Áron Yaakobishvili became the youngest goalkeeper to debut for Hungary, with Softfootball gathering that he made his first appearance in Hungary’s 2–1 win against Finland.

Although Hungary did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup, having been eliminated during the European qualifiers after finishing third in Group F behind Portugal and the Republic of Ireland.

Yaakobishvili expressed that playing for the national team has always been a dream for him. He added that every kid dreams of playing at the Puskás Aréna.

Yaakobishvili, who is a Barcelona player currently on loan at FC Andorra, has received two loan offers for next season. However, Barcelona’s manager believes in his long‑term potential, and a decision regarding his future at the club will be made soon.
