According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, Ibrahima Konaté is in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid over a move to the Santiago Bernabéu when his contract with Liverpool FC expires at the end of June.
Romano posted:
🚨💣 BREAKING: Real Madrid have verbal agreement in place with Ibrahima Konaté! Four year deal to be signed, depending on if/when Florentino Pérez is re-elected. Here we go, expected right after. 🔜 Konaté put Saudi bids on hold for Real Madrid, as @marcosbenito9 reported.

Liverpool confirmed on Sunday that the France international will leave the club upon the expiration of his current deal. Discussions over a contract extension had taken place, but the two parties were unable to reach an agreement regarding salary expectations and the player’s valuation.
Konaté departs Anfield after a successful four-year spell, having made 183 appearances and won the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cups following his £35 million move from RB Leipzig in 2021.
Softfootball understands that Should the transfer be completed, Konaté would become the second Liverpool player in successive summers to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The development comes at a time of significant change for Liverpool, with Andoni Iraola expected to be unveiled as the club’s new head coach after agreeing terms with the Reds following his impressive spell at AFC Bournemouth.
Konaté’s potential arrival would further strengthen a Real Madrid squad that continues to target elite talent as it prepares for another era of domestic and European competition.
