UEFA has officially named Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League Player of the Season following another outstanding European campaign with Paris Saint-Germain as confirmed by a post made on their official x handle.

The Georgian winger played a crucial role in PSG’s successful title defence, registering 10 goals and six assists in 16 Champions League appearances. Softfootball understands His performances consistently proved decisive throughout the competition, including a dominant display against Chelsea in the Round of 16, where he scored three goals across both legs, and another vital strike against Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
Kvaratskhelia was also instrumental in the Champions League final against Arsenal. With PSG trailing, the 25-year-old won the penalty that led to the equaliser after being brought down inside the box, allowing Ousmane Dembélé to convert from the spot. The match eventually finished 1-1 before PSG secured a dramatic 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout.
The award was selected by UEFA’s Technical Observer Group, which includes respected football figures such as Gareth Southgate, Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Rafael Benítez.

Kvaratskhelia’s recognition comes shortly after UEFA also unveiled its Champions League Team of the Season. The PSG star was included on the left wing alongside teammates Vitinha, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Dembélé, highlighting PSG’s dominance in Europe’s premier club competition this season.
