Newcastle United Confirm New Safe Standing Section At St. James’ Park

Newcastle United have officially confirmed that a new safe standing section will be introduced on Level 7 at St. James’ Park this summer following extensive discussions with supporter groups, Softfootball reports.

The club revealed in a statement posted on their official x handle that more than 1,700 fans will be housed in the new section, with affected season ticket holders given the option to move to alternative seats or relocate into the safe standing area during the seat move window, subject to availability.

Their statement:

A new safe standing section will be introduced on Level 7 at St. James’ Park this summer.

Affected season ticket holders have the option to move to alternative seats and supporters can also move into the new section during the seat move window, subject to availability.

According to Newcastle United, the decision comes after months of engagement with the Atmosphere Working Group, which included representatives from Wor Flags, the Fan Advisory Board, Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust, United with Pride, NUDSA and senior club executives.

The club stressed that the aim is to maintain and enhance the unique atmosphere at St. James’ Park while creating a modern and inclusive matchday experience shaped by supporter feedback.

Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon has concrete chances of leaving Newcastle United this summer, while the Magpies also remain interested in signing Liam Delap despite reports suggesting the striker wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.
