Al Nassr are reportedly preparing a major step that could see Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. join his father in the first-team training group as early as next season. The Saudi club is now actively considering his pathway into senior football as his development continues.

The update was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, who shared the club’s plans:

Fabrizio Romano reported;

Al Nassr are considering to bring Cristiano Ronaldo Jr with the first team in training from next season.

He’s turning 16 in June and Al Nassr are closely monitoring his development + best options for his pathway.

Inclusion in first squad is an option, as

This move comes during a strong period for the senior team. Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored his 969th career goal as Al Nassr defeated Al-Wasl 4-0 in the AFC Champions League on April 20, 2026. He also continues to chase the historic 1,000-goal milestone, staying in top form at 41 years old.

Al Nassr are also pushing strongly in the Saudi Pro League, where they have built a 15-game winning streak and hold an eight-point lead over Al Hilal. The club is now in a strong position to win the title this season.

Softfootball believes Ronaldo Jr.’s promotion would be a major step in his career. Once he turns 16 in June, he is expected to train with the senior squad as the club evaluates his readiness for top-level football. He has already impressed at youth level, including a recent hat-trick for the Al Nassr U-15 team.

A final decision is expected at the end of the season, after the club fully reviews his progress. With Al Nassr close to silverware and Ronaldo Jr still performing at a high level, the possibility of a father-son link in the first team is becoming more real.
