Liam Rosenior has responded to Cole Palmer’s recent comments about the importance of UEFA Champions League qualification, admitting that “everything changes” depending on whether Chelsea FC secure a spot, Softfootball reports.
The situation comes after Chelsea suffered a 1–0 defeat to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on April 18, 2026, with Matheus Cunha scoring the decisive goal following an assist from Bruno Fernandes. The result further complicates Chelsea’s push for a top-five finish.

In comments confirmed by Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, he said:
Liam Rosenior on Cole Palmer’s comments as “everything changes” without UCL. We’re still fighting and we will address that situation at the end of the season, whatever the situation is.
Palmer had earlier stressed that Champions League qualification would be crucial to strengthening Chelsea’s position in the summer transfer market, noting that it would help attract top players.

He also revealed that discussions have already taken place with the club’s ownership regarding transfer targets ahead of the upcoming window.
