Gary Neville has taken a major step in the football media space, announcing via his linkedin handle that The Overlap has acquired two popular YouTube channels, The United Stand and That’s Football.

Gary reported;

Today we can announce that The Overlap has acquired The United Stand and That’s Football.

I recently shared with you our plans to build The Overlap Network – an extensive global non-live independent football platform and this is the first step in that vision.

The United Stand and That’s Football are two of the best-known football channels on YouTube, and we want to to develop them into the most compelling Manchester United and football news channels there is.

We’re excited about what we can do from here and can’t wait to bring our vision to life.

Thank you to everyone for their support on this journey so far ❤️

The move is part of a broader vision to build a global, independent football media network focused on non-live content. Neville made it clear that this is just the beginning, with plans to grow both platforms into leading destinations for Manchester United content and general football news worldwide.

Beyond the business move, Neville has also continued to share strong opinions on football matters. Softfootball has reported that He recently suggested that Michael Carrick may not be the right long-term solution for Manchester United, raising questions about the club’s future direction.

At the same time, he reflected on his experiences at Anfield, describing the intense atmosphere and hostility he faced there, while acknowledging how the stadium remains one of football’s toughest grounds.

Softfootball understands that Neville’s latest moves highlight both his growing influence off the pitch and his continued voice in shaping conversations around the modern game.
