Niclas Füllkrug Set to Leave AC Milan as Arsenal Take Edge in Europe

Niclas Füllkrug is expected to leave AC Milan at the end of the season, with the club not planning to activate the €5 million buy option in his loan deal from West Ham United, Softfootball understands.

Füllkrug joined Milan on loan in January 2026 as the club looked to strengthen their attacking options in Serie A, but the move now appears set to end without a permanent transfer.

According to Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official x handle, The German striker is set to return to West Ham in June, but reports indicate he is unlikely to stay, with another departure expected shortly after.

He posted:

Niclas Füllkrug, expected to leave AC Milan in June without plans to activate €5m buy option clause. Füllkrug would return to West Ham and then leave the club again.

Elsewhere, Arsenal FC return to the Emirates with a slim advantage over Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League, following a first-leg win secured by Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz.
