Softfootball can confirm Arne Slot has paid tribute to Mohamed Salah following confirmation that the forward will leave Liverpool FC at the end of the season.

Salah officially announced on March 24, 2026, that he will depart Liverpool on a free transfer, despite having a contract running until June 2027, bringing an end to a historic chapter at the club.

In comments confirmed by Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, Slot described Salah as “an absolute legend,” adding:

Mo Salah is an absolute legend. Hopefully he can make his legacy even more special in the upcoming weeks and months where we still play for something special. But he will always leave this club as a legend because, as I said, the way this club has performed in the last seasons is also for a large part due to what he’s done for it.

Meanwhile, Jeremie Frimpong has suffered a fresh injury setback after picking up a hamstring problem while on international duty with the Netherlands national football team in a friendly against Ecuador national football team.

The right-back was forced off just 13 minutes after coming on as a substitute, with head coach Ronald Koeman describing the situation as a “real setback.”
