Ryan Gravenberch has highlighted the trust shown by Liverpool as a key reason behind his decision to sign a long-term contract extension with the club. The Dutch midfielder’s personal comments were shared by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his official X account.

Softfootball recently reported that Gravenberch put pen to paper on a new deal running until June 2032, a move confirmed by Liverpool on March 7, 2026. The contract rewards the midfielder for his rapid development and growing importance in manager Arne Slot’s tactical setup during the 2025/26 season.
Since arriving from FC Bayern Munich in 2023 for £34.2 million, Gravenberch has evolved from a rotational squad option into a central figure in Liverpool’s midfield. His performances this season underline that transformation, with five goals and seven assists in 28 Premier League appearances.
The new agreement reportedly places Gravenberch among Liverpool’s top earners, with a weekly wage of around £277,000, making him the club’s fourth highest paid player. The extension also reflects a broader strategic shift at Anfield as the club looks to secure its key talents for long term.
Reports earlier in the season suggested Liverpool rejected a €120 million bid from Real Madrid C.F. in January 2026, underlining how highly the club values the Dutch international.
Gravenberch has also spoken about Liverpool’s ambitions in European competition, stressing the need for the team to be “spot on” when facing elite attackers such as Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior.
