Spurs and West Ham Battle for Brian Brobbey

Tottenham have approached Ajax for striker Brian Brobbey on loan, joining West Ham in the race to secure his services. The 22-year-old has struggled this season, netting only four times in 28 appearances.

West Ham, desperate for reinforcements due to injuries to Niclas Fullkrug, Jarrod Bowen, and Michail Antonio, currently rely solely on Danny Ings.

Ajax, however, insists on including a purchase option and has already rejected a €25 million (£21m) bid from Marseille.

West Ham has held talks with Brobbey’s representatives, while Tottenham’s need for a striker has grown with Dominic Solanke sidelined for six weeks due to a knee injury, as confirmed by Ange Postecoglou.

Brobbey, a two-time Eredivisie champion, scored 22 goals last season. He previously turned down Manchester United under Erik ten Hag in 2022 and was linked to a move last January, but financial constraints hindered progress.

As interest from Spurs and West Ham grows, Ajax’s firm stance may make negotiations challenging in this transfer window.
