Christian Eriksen is preparing for life after Manchester United, as the midfielder looks beyond the Premier League for his next destination. The 33-year-old will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires this month, ending a three-year spell that included 107 appearances and winners’ medals in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Despite the trophies, his time in Manchester has been largely underwhelming. However, Eriksen remains ambitious and eager for a new challenge away from England, firmly ruling out a return to his native Denmark for now. Though linked with a romantic move to former club OB, Eriksen dismissed the rumours, stating that the timing isn’t right for a return home.
His agent, Martin Schoots, echoed that sentiment, saying Eriksen still has a lot to offer at a higher level. While the possibility of playing in Denmark may arise later, his current focus is on continuing his career in a competitive foreign league.
The former Tottenham and Inter Milan star took to Instagram to thank Manchester United fans, staff, and teammates, reflecting on the special memories he’s made during his time with the club. He also revealed he is in no rush to make a decision about his next move, with Denmark’s upcoming matches and a family holiday taking priority.
Eriksen expressed his desire to move on from English football, highlighting that while he has enjoyed his years in the Premier League, it’s time to explore new opportunities abroad. For now, interest from various clubs is circling, but nothing is close to being finalized.
