Jota Silva’s spell at Nottingham Forest appears to be coming to an end as Besiktas have reportedly reached an agreement on a loan deal to bring the Portuguese winger to Turkey.
Silva joined Forest from Vitória Guimarães in the summer of 2024 but failed to make a sustained impact in the Premier League. Despite featuring 31 times last season, he managed to score just three goals. This campaign, he has played only 12 minutes.
Signed under his compatriot former manager Nuno Espírito Santo, Softfootball understands that Silva’s role was likely to diminish further with the arrival of new head coach, Ange Postecoglou.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Turkish giants Besiktas have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder Jota Silva.
The reports indicate that Besiktas will take Silva on loan for the season, with an option to buy that could become an obligation at the end of the deal. The post reads:
jota Silva to Besiktas, here we go! Exclusive story confirmed and deal done with Nottingham Forest.
#NFFC to receive loan fee close to €3m plus buy option clause close to €17m that can turn into mandatory.
Silva is expected to complete his medical and finalise the transfer before the Turkish transfer window shuts on September 12, with the deal seen as an important step in strengthening their attacking options. He will become their latest high-profile addition as they look to mount a title challenge.
Postecoglou is in the process of reshaping the squad and with Forest reinforcing their wide areas during the summer, Silva slipped further down the pecking order. His exit allows the new boss to focus on players who fit more closely with his style of play.
For Besiktas, Silva arrives with pedigree as a direct and energetic winger. His ability to stretch defences could make him a valuable asset in the Turkish Super Lig, where Besiktas are chasing domestic honours and progress in Europe.
Forest, meanwhile, benefit financially from a deal that provides an immediate loan fee and the prospect of a permanent transfer next year. The club also lighten their wage bill as they adjust to Postecoglou’s tenure.
